Starting December 1, 2016 all restaurants with 15 or more locations are required to post calories next to each item on their menus. So when you drive up to McDonalds to get that hot and juicy Big Mac (see above) you will know that you are eating 550 calories. But wait, what does that mean? What is 550 calories? Is that good, is it bad? We've been told that fast food is bad, but how bad is it really?
During this project your students will be exploring what a calorie really is and how much they can eat. It's a mix of science, nutrition, and of course math!
